Field Hockey Manitoba is a volunteer driven amateur sport provincial sport organization dedicated to the development of Field Hockey in Manitoba.
The mission of FHM is to foster growth and development of field hockey and indoor hockey in Manitoba, strive for efficiency and effectiveness in the administration, organization and governance of field hockey in Manitoba, encourage and support the development of the highest standards of skills among athletes, coaches, and officials at recreational, competitive and elite levels, be the official representative of Manitoba to national and international field hockey governing bodies.
- Need for Volunteers
- Field Hockey MB is a non-profit Provincial Sport organization driven by an elected volunteer Board of Directors and an Executive Director / Head Coach. FHM is currently looking for volunteers to serve on the board and several sub committees. Parents or eligible candidates are encouraged to volunteer for this upcoming year. Previous experience in field hockey is not required, though your time, commitment and desire to improve field hockey in Manitoba is desired. - Prairie Youth Games 2010
- This year the Prairie Youth Games were
hosted by Field Hockey Manitoba at the East Side Eagles Turf.
PYG is a fun tournament for boys and girls under the age of
14. It is an opportunity to develop the sport of field hockey
as well as for players to gain real game experience and
improve their skills. This year the Alberta North boys were a
dominating force in the tournament. They finished undefeated
after the gold medal game versus Alberta South. The Manitoba
Boys finished third after they were challenged by Team
Saskatchewan in bronze medal game. The Alberta girls finished
fifth after a hard fought tournament against the other teams
comprised of mostly boys. Overall, the tournament was a great
display of sportsmanship and hard work. Congrats to all
participants!
Gold medal game results: Miles Mac defeats Garden City: 1-0.
The gold medal game was a battle with both teams competing hard. The game was evenly played and finished with an intense last 15 minutes. Miles Mac scored their only and game winning goal within the last ten minutes making for an exciting finish to the game. Congratulations to both teams for a great and fun season!
Bronze medal game results: River East defeats Dakota Collegiate: 4-0
Although the score indicates a good game in favor of River East, Dakota put up a fight for the whole 50 minutes with both teams having many scoring chances. Both teams fought hard however River East capitalized on their opportunities. Congratulations to both teams for a great and fun season!
Dakota Collegiate and River East bronze medal game will be held on Tuesday, June 1st 2010.
Miles MacDonald and Garden City gold medal game will be held on Thursday June, 3rd 2010.
High school league All-star game is on June 8th, 2010. All-stars to be announced.

Mens Junior National Registration
Field Hockey Canada is pleased to announce three (3) regional
identification camps for athletes eligible to compete in the
2013 Junior World Cup or its preceding Qualifying tournament.
The camps will be held in Vancouver (May 7/8/9), Calgary (June
25/26/27) and Toronto (date tbd). Eligible athletes for this
camp should be identified by their Provincial Association or
Club Coach. Registration process and eligibility requirements
will be communicated in more detail.

Coaches needed for Prairie Youth Games
The Prairie Youth Games, a seven a side fun tournament between Manitoba, Saskatchewan and Alberta, are being held in Winnipeg on July 9, 10 and 11. Anyone interested in coaching should contact the FHM Office for more details
2010 Outdoor Field Hockey
Registration is now open for the Junior and Senior programs and is scheduled to commence on Tuesday, May 4th. Please contact FHM office for more details.
Registration dates are May 4th, 6th and 11th
For this year FHM is temporarily relocating to the Assiniboine Park as the artificial turf is being replaced which is expected to be completed by the middle of June
- The Junior program runs from 6:15pm to 7:30pm, every Tuesday and Thursday at Assiniboine Park ending June 24th.

- The 1st three sessions will be dedicated to players getting used to playing on grass as well as any new players to have an opportunity to practice the basic skills of the game. Each session after that will consist of a practice session followed by a game
- The Prairie Youth Games (PYG) will be in Winnipeg this year scheduled for the weekend of July 10th. Athletes born in 1997 and later are eligible to participate. Additional practice in July will be required on turf to help prepare for the tournament
- The Indoor Program is anticipated to be held at the same locations (Maples Collegiate, Prendergast & Transcona) with an anticipated start date of early November
- New this year is a $25 savings for registering for both Indoor & Outdoor programs at the same time.
- The Senior program runs from 7:30pm to 9:30pm, every Tuesday and Thursday at the Assiniboine Park ending the week of July 29th.
- The 7 a-side league is scheduled as usual. It's anticipated that there will be sufficient participants to host a separate Men & Women's league
- The senior National Championships (men & women) is scheduled for June 30 - July 4 in Victoria
- The U18 Canada Cup (men & women) is scheduled for July 14-18 in Calgary
- The Surrey Field Hockey Invitational Tournament (men) is scheduled for July 22-25 in Surrey
- New this year is a $40 savings for registering for both Indoor & Outdoor programs at the same time.
The Assiniboine Tournament will be in Brandon on Saturday June 19th which is a fun seven a-side tournament for all participants
Western Canada Summer Games Team
Reminder that players (under 19 as at Dec 31, 2011) are still welcome to try-out for the team. This year the team will be participating in the Canada Cup and participation in the Senior Women's league will be required.

- FHM on the move
FHM will be moving to it's new location at 145 Pacific Ave the week of February 8, 2010. As with most moves there will be some disruption with both the phone and computer system as Sport Manitoba moves the various systems to the new location.
